Hummus is such a nutritious dip to have as a snack with some veggie sticks. It contains chickpeas which are a great source of plant-based protein and fiber, iron, zinc, phosphorus, B vitamins and more. Chickpeas supports blood sugar levels, increase satiety and support weight loss, improve digestion with the high fiber content, are a great source of protein and have been shown to protect the heart against heart disease and also reduce blood pressure. This dip is guilt free so enjoy it :)
Ingredients
2 x 400g cans of chickpeas (save the liquid
and a few chickpeas for decoration)
4 tsp tahini
2 garlic cloves, crushed
1 tsp crushed sea salt
6 tbsp quality extra virgin olive oil (plus
extra for drizzling)
1 juice of freshly squeezed lemon
Paprika for garnish
Method
1. Rinse the chickpeas and pop into the food processor. 2. Add the tahini, crushed garlic, salt, lemon juice and eight tablespoons of the chickpea liquid. 3. Start the food processor and slowly pour in the olive oil. 4. When combined and smooth, put into a serving dish. 5. Drizzle with some more extra virgin olive oil, sprinkle with paprika and top with whole 6. Add chickpeas for decoration.
7. Enjoy with your fav veggie sticks!
